Few people have displayed the disciplined approach to producing that Rene Amesz has in the last ten years. Churning out a steady stream of his unique and dirty sounding tracks, the Rene Amesz sound has been destroying speakers all over the world and it looks like now it is coming into its own at the opportune time. Maybe Rene’s Rotterdam (The Netherlands) background had something to do with his work ethic. People from Rotterdam are generally known for their ‘get on with it attitude’ – get yourself together and work hard to get out there!
Born in Holland’s finest town Zwijndrecht, Rene Amesz started DJing at the tender age of 15 at school parties where he drew attention of the owners of Zwijndrecht’s local club ‘The Blue Lagoon’. That’s where he learned how to DJ in front of a 500+ crowd. Besides this he started to develop his producer skills on his first pieces of gear that he bought, resulting in a few releases on label’s such as Blue Records and World Of Dance.
FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS RENE MADE HIS UNIQUE APPROACH TO DJING AND PRODUCING CLEAR TO THE DANCE MUSIC INDUSTRY AND IT SEEMS IT’S STILL EVOLVING AND REFRESHING EVER SINCE HE STARTED RELEASING HIS GROOVY AND PERCUSSION DRIVEN HOUSE MUSIC. “FILTHY, FUNKY AND SEXY” ARE THE BEST 3 WORDS TO DESCRIBE HIS IDENTITY AND SOUND.
Amesz’ breakthrough came when he produced several club smashing bootlegs in 2007 and when he co-produced Peter Gelderblom’s ‘Waiting For’, which was one of the most played dance tunes of that year. Things got even better when he made ‘Strike Me Down’ together with Wally Lopez and Gelderblom and the mighty ‘Snap’ on Chris Lake’s Rising Music.
From 2009 on Rene released a lot of hit tracks such as the his cover of Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ (which was signed to 15 different countries, got him a firm #1 spot in all the big dance music charts all over the world and was the first approved electronic music cover of one of Nirvana’s tracks in history), ‘Work This’ & ‘Dextro’ on Toolroom and ‘Climb The Wall’ on Sander Kleinenberg’s This Is imprint. Besides shiploads of original tracks, Amesz remixed quite an extended list of well-known artists such as Mark Knight & Funkagenda’s ‘Man With The Red Face’, Danny Tenaglia’s ‘D’Ibiza’, Sander Kleinenberg’s ‘Chemically’, Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso’s ‘Click’ and Laidback Luke’s ‘Timebomb’, amongst others.
2013 was a great year for this talented optimist. While Rene had numerous successful releases on Toolroom and Spinnin Records, he toured all over the world from Sao Paulo to London and from Indonesia to Ibiza. With this in mind and with plans already made for the future, 2014 promises to be an outstanding year. His DJ diary is filling up with gigs where fans appreciate the sore muscles you can only get from dancing all night; after all, that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? Success is glowing around the corner – barely close enough to touch, with the anticipation of what is yet to come.
