Shahi's love for music (as he remembers) started from the ‘Kinder' age of 5 years.

He would always ask his brother to play the likes of Africa Bambata, Rock Steady Crew and Break Machine on the ‘Hi-Fi' turntable, that he was never aloud to touch!

Staying up many nights as a kid to record his favourite tracks from radio gave him his versatile passion for grooves. Pointer Sisters and Shalama were among them.

His enthusiasm for productions derived from the early days of the Commodore Amiga.Having only

4 tracks and 1 megabyte of sample space gave him his palette, to start mixing his colours!

Over the last year Shahi takes his productions that step further. With the release of ‘Royal Bengal' on Toolroom Trax, You and I (bubblegum records), Shahi Dubs Vol. 1, he realises that there is a growing niche for his sound!

He is greatly influenced by the French House scene – favourite producers being Daft Punk,

Bob Sinclar & Cassius

Shahi doesn't consider himself a DJ! Though he can ‘rustle up' a peak-time set, he believes that DJ'ing should be left to the gals and boys who love it more!
