IBIZA 2017: THE BIGGEST TRACKS |Toolroom

As the closing parties commence, we’ve got the round up of the biggest tracks from summer ’17.

No Requests – Staccato [Exclusive on Toolroom Ibiza 2017]

Nothing welcomed the summer more than ‘Staccato’ – An uplifting slice of House music which had support from Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1. The chord change and the vocal make it the perfect track for the White Isle. Expect more from No Requests via Toolroom coming soon…

Moon Boots – Tear My Heart Feat Lulu James (Marquis Hawkes Remix) [Anjunadeep]

The first track from Moon Boot’s debut album, ‘Tear My Heart’. This special remix package came complete with remixes from Marquis Hawkes, Justin Jay, and Nick Trikakis each providing unique interpretations of the original. Marquis Hawkes continues to supply that disco, soulful sound with this remix, complete with the stunning vocals from LuLu James.

Clyde P, Tim Baresko – Back In The Days [Exclusive on IBZ U/G 2017]

Clyde P and Tim Barekso teamed up for ‘Back In The Days’ – A no nonsense, rough and ready club tool which landed on Ibiza U/G 2017. Fitting the album perfectly with it’s raw sound and that old skool rave synth.

Taster Peter – Body Call [Exclusive on IBZ U/G 2017]

Italian DJ and music producer Taster Peter is not messing around with his debut on the label; ‘Body Call’ – One of the brand new and exclusive tracks to land on Ibiza U/G 2017. Setting the pace just right with some sleezy drums and that infectious bass line, it’s the perfect club tool for the White Isle to keep people moving. We had this on repeat this summer at HQ and if you’re not familiar with Taster Peter… get to know.

Gene Farris – Higher Ground (Latmun Remix) [Material]

Latmun took 2016 by storm and earlier this year, he made his debut on Mihalis Safras‘s imprint, Material. True to his sound, Latmun brings his reinterpretation to ‘Higher Ground’ with an infectious groove! We love everything this producer does, he is one to watch for 2018!

Satin Jackets – Out Of My Head [Exclusive on Poolside Ibiza 2017]

Our Poolside compilations are a way of showcasing the deeper side of the label and for Ibiza Poolside 2017, we handed over the reins to Satin Jackets. “Out Of My Head” brings signature Satin Jackets silk to the compilation. Full luscious synths, the perfect tropical, wispy feminine vocals of Norway’s Sheila Simmene. Keeping that chill pace, the guys chose this one “to lay down a rich foundation of Satin Jackets goodness and set the mood for the upcoming ride.”

Dusky – Cold Heart [17 Steps]

The London-based production and DJ duo, Dusky, dropped their four track EP on their own outlet just in time for the summer. ‘Cold Heart’ is everything you want to hear in a superclub, with a punchy bass line and a euphoric pad sound that would light up any space. We’re big fans of Dusky and we can’t wait to hear more from them.

Route 94 – House & Pressure [Hot Creations]

‘House & Pressure’ packs a real punch and contains the vocals from Joey Negro’s classic ‘Ride the Storm’ featuring Linda Clifford. The dominant female vocal on ‘House & Pressure’ combined with the force of the drums is a traditional element that people connect to the Route 94 productions.

Bicep – Aura [Ninja Tune]

Irish duo, Bicep, released their debut album on Ninja Tune this month, distilling their passion for classic House, Techno, Electro and Italo Disco into one “succinct” record. We’ve had the album on repeat at HQ and ‘Aura’ is the perfect way to finish any album with the track leading to this beautiful synth-melody piece. The perfect outlet for the sound, Ninja continues to release uncompromising, forward-thinking music in the highest quality packaging.

Secondcity – Kwelanga [Toolroom]

As the Ibiza season kicked off in true hedonistic style, we played host to yet another huge summer anthem from Secondcity! ‘Kwelanga’ is a straight up summer anthem that fuses a rolling, funky Tech House groove with some insanely catchy tribal vocals that will drill themselves inside your head and nestle there for the rest of the night.

Friend Within x Kideko – Burnin’ Up [Rinse]

The well known pair came together giving a new lease of life to one of the most notorious tracks in Dance music history – sampling Loleatta Holloway’s era-defining ‘Love Sensation’ this hook is instantly recognisable and blends together their own production with the spirit of Paradise Garage!

Eli Brown – Get Down [Exclusive on Toolroom Ibiza 2017 Vol. 2]

Bristol’s own Eli Brown has had a pretty standout year. With releases on Skream’s label, support from BBC Radio 1, plays by Solardo and his release on Toolroom. ‘Get Down’ features that groovy little b-line we all love, with classic vocal hooks and caustic synth melodies!

Radio Slave – Children Of The E – KiNK SP1200 mix [Running Back]

KiNK remixed Radio Slave’s 2014 track, ‘Children Of The E, on Gerd Janson’s (One half of Tuff City Kids) Running Back. KiNK injects the track with a burst of rave futurism. Flashing synths dominate but a beefed out kick drum keeps the cut on the straight and narrow before one of his signature breakdowns kicks in.

ZDS – Rick James [Toolroom]

An instant, straight up House track with one of the most infectious hooks you’ll hear all year. Combine that with some dirty ZDS beats, a unique vocal and you have a fun, quirky and cool-as-you-like record that will provide the soundtrack to many a good time in 2017 and beyond!

Wheats – Do It [Exclusive on Toolroom Ibiza 2017 Vol. 2]

Our latest label signing… Wheats! He’s had an unbelievable 2017 so far with releases on MadTech, Lost Records and Amplified Records. ‘Do It’ is the perfect blend of House and Tech House and it’s no surprise this young-gun has been hotly tipped by Kerri Chandler and label boss Mark Knight! Expect more big things from Wheats and Toolroom over the next coming months…

Huxley – F-Bomb [Moon Harbour]

‘F-Bomb’ was one of the tracks on Huxley’s ‘Careo’ EP on the Moon Harbour outlet. Filled with distorted disco vocals over a funky bass line and adrenaline-inducing claps, as Mixmag put it… this is a ‘certified club banger’ with a nod to that old skool rave sound.

Toddla T Feat. Andrea Martin – Magnet [Steeze]

‘Magnet’ comes from Toddla T’s latest album ‘Foreign Light’. The record blends Soul, R&B, Electronica and Dance into the perfect summer anthem. The catchy hook and melody over Toddla’s vibrant production will give fans another taste of the Sheffield native’s new sound and refined aesthetic.

Klangkuenstler – Satisfaction [Toolroom]

Based in Berlin but hailing from Bavaria, KlangKuenstler’s career is in the ascendant after kicking things off with a bang with the Beatport Tech House Chart topping ‘Jam Master Jack’ in early 2016. ‘Satisfaction’, delves a little deeper and utilizes some great analogue synths alongside those tough drums. Weiss (UK) – Warp [This Ain’t Bristol]

To help mark This Aint Bristol’s success, the label have released “Celebrations”; a new 15-track compilation featuring Weiss, Billy Kenny, Maximono, Josh Brown and Kry Wolf, as well as tracks from the likes of Lux Groove & Mark Starr, Worthy and BOT. This Aint Bristol’s mantra is simple: ‘Let’s spread some real good vibes House music’ and Weiss has done just that with his chunky, contribution to the 25th release with ‘Warp’. It’s chunky and packs a punch, everything you wanted from Weiss!

Ferdinand Weber – Sun (Lex Luca Remix) [Love & Other]

Ferdinand Weber made his label debut on Love & Other with ‘Sun’ – A sophisticated House jam that’s littered with percussive drums, a whomping baseline and sparkling piano keys. Lex Luca stepped up and brought his sun-drenched sound by playing with the nostalgic vocal sample, floating in and out of warm uplifting piano keys, held down by a steady high-octane groove. We’ve had this on repeat at HQ. We’re excited for more tracks from Lex Luca via Love & Other.
